We come to another river
And find ourselves wrestling again
Our true selves reflected back at us in the water,
Wrestling with ourselves
Wrestling with an angel
Wrestling with God.
Wrestling our fears
Our frustrations
Our failings,
Wrestling with our doubts
Our disappointments
Our delusions.
And in the wrestling the questions come to us again
Who are you?
What do you want?
What are you holding onto?
And in the wrestling we bump up against truth
Liberating
Uncomfortable
Truth,
The truth about ourselves
About life
About God.
We come to another river
And find ourselves wrestling
Once again.
