Confession

Love is patient and kind, though I admit I often find,
My patience is in very short supply,
Though it’s something I don’t choose, I quietly blow a fuse,
When life does not behave, and won’t comply.

Love keeps no score of wrongs, though I’m often not that strong,
And I start to notice other people’s specks,
And conveniently pass by the log in my own eye,
As others wind me up and I get vexed.

But within this mess and muddle, and the ragged days of trouble,
I’m grateful that in the push and shove,
God’s not like me, I find… he is patient, he is kind,
He is slow to anger, and full of faithful love.
