God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
But Jonah didn’t like what he had to do.
So he tried to run and give God the slip,
Went to the coast and jumped on a… ship.
So God sent a storm, and Jonah couldn’t hide,
And the sailors on board threw him over the side.
Then he swam along and spotted a tail,
And before you know it he’d jumped on a… whale.
So God touched the whale and tickled its chin,
It opened its mouth and Jonah fell in.
Then God took the whale to a nice piece of land,
The whale was sick and heaved Jonah on the sand.
Then God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
But Jonah didn’t like what he had to do.
So he wondered how he might take a hike,
Ran to a shop and he bought a… bike.
But he didn’t get far as the road went higher,
And God caused the bike to get a flat tyre.
Then God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
But Jonah didn’t like what he had to do.
So he bought a sandwich, cheese and ham,
Then he went to the town and jumped on a… tram.
But he didn’t get far as another door shut,
The tram just stopped with a power cut.
Then God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
But Jonah didn’t like what he had to do.
So he ran to a park to get away from the Lord,
And he jumped straight onto a big… skateboard.
But the board was old and wobbly as well,
And Jonah hit a rock, broke a wheel and fell.
Then God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
But Jonah didn’t like what he had to do.
So he ran to a car park, and felt like a looter,
As he jumped on a little mobility… scooter.
But the battery wasn’t charged and it wouldn’t budge,
So Jonah gave up and God gave him a nudge.
And God said to Jonah, I’ve a job for you,
And Jonah knew what he had to do.
He went to the people that he didn’t love,
After God gave him a push and a shove.
The people changed to stop their lives sinking,
And Jonah had to change the way he was thinking.
