It was once said that God made us in his image and we have returned the compliment.
Perhaps if we were to make God now
He would be an influencer,
Longing to be noticed,
A wannabe celebrity,
Concerned with trying to sell us stuff.
Chasing followers, likes and notifications,
Perhaps he’d be hungry for more views,
For more clicks and emojis,
Needing to be successful and famous.
Thank goodness he is not.
Thank God he never was like that.
He would rather downsize,
Make himself smaller,
So that all those who are unsuccessful,
With little influence, and no likes,
Can discover him,
And know how precious they are.
And how kind he is.
I have come for the lost and unpopular, for the hurting and the lonely.
