Mission Impossible:Final Reckoning

In this 8th Mission Impossible film a deadly virus, generated by artificial intelligence, is taking over the world and it’s going to destroy it. Unless Ethan hunt and his Mission Impossible pals can possibly stop it. Will they manage in time? Well that’s the rest of the film… I can reveal there is plenty of fisticuffs and underwater action and people removing rubber masks to reveal who they really are.

One of the key things about Christianity is recognizing that the world is broken, a kind of virus called sin or selfishness has damaged what was once a perfect planet. But that’s only part of the story. A hero – Jesus of Nazareth – has come to rescue us from this virus, fighting it with everything he’s got. Including his own life. Giving everything to destroy its power. He didn’t need to remove a rubber mask to reveal who he truly was, he had total integrity, and was always true to himself. But he did come to remove our masks and to lead us to all truth.

Paul writes about his own struggles with sin and selfishness in the book of Romans, Chapter 7, in the Bible. In verses 24 and 25 he writes this question – ‘Who will save me from the power of sin? And then he says, ‘Thanks be to God who does it through Jesus Christ.’ We have a hero who understands our struggles, who understands the problems with this virus of sin in the world, and who has given everything to help us and to set us free from the power of it.

Some very good reflections here Dave. I think it is important to state that the coming of God’s kingdom will be fulfilled when Christ returns and the entire creation will be restored and liberated (REV 21 and 22). Your piece seems to restrict this salvation to individuals. Forgive me if I misunderstand you. The Bible can be summarised thus. Creation Fall Redemption New Creation
