It’s as if the door of life’s cage has been opened wide and we’re able to walk through.
But sometimes we don’t have the strength,
sometimes we don’t have the inclination, sometimes we’re too frightened,
sometimes we feel as if we don’t deserve to go through it.
So the door is open and we are set free,
like a bird that’s been caught in a trap but now the trap is open.
But to live that life of freedom is not easy,
and we need the help of the one who has opened that cage door,
the help of the one who has opened the trap.
We need his help each day to keep discovering what it means
for the truth to set us free.
