Jurassic World: Rebirth

In this latest dinosaur epic, the big monsters have lost their appeal, folks no longer want to pay to see them, and so they have been shunted to a small band of islands near the equator. However, a bunch of scientists believe that their DNA can help medical research so a small and secret expedition is sent to extract blood samples from the largest of the creatures. And so begins another adventure full of jump scare moments, roaring creatures and lots of running for cover.

Three of the expeditionary force, Zora, Duncan and Martin are only really going for the money, for the megabucks that will be made from the research. And it’s down to fourth member Henry to try and persuade them to think differently.

The love of money, St Paul tells us in 1 Timothy 6 v 10, is the root of all kinds of evil. Not money itself, it’s worth noting, but the love of it. We all need money to survive, it’s a vital part of life. But I guess the challenge to us is how we see it and what we do with it. It’s not always easy in these difficult times.

Money can lock us up, or set us free. And the writers of the Bible encourage us to live as generously as we can. Giving to the poor is like lending to the Lord, and the Lord will pay you back, so says the writer of Proverbs. Give your gifts in secret, and your Father, who knows all secrets, will reward you. Jesus assures us in Matthew 6 v 4.

If your eye is good your whole being is filled with light, Jesus once said in Matthew 6 v 22-23. This was a saying about living generously, if we do this Jesus is saying it is good for us, we are blessed ourselves.
