Imposter

It’s said that many people have that nagging voice of doubt
Living rent free in their head, pushing them about,
Telling them they’re no good, they can’t do this or that,
Too young, too old, too weak, too dumb, too crass, too thin or fat.
But it’s a shared experience of that I have no doubt,
To believe that you don’t know what you‘re talking about.
To feel a failure or a fool, or a bit of both, you know,
To be tempted to think you’re just putting on a show.
That’s why we need the voice of the man of Galilee,
Who longs to lift us up and wants to help us see,
That he’s given us gifts, things that only we can do,
So may we hear the voice of the One whose words are true.

We are his body, all playing a different and vital part… 1 Corinthians 12 v 22
