My mind must seem like a minefield at times,
Or a road strewn with huge potholes.
It may well be full of litter and junk,
But you are always willing to walk through it,
As I stop and rest with you
Beside those fresh, still waters.
The living waters that bring life, cleansing and renewal.
And more than willing, you are keen and always ready to stroll
Through my thoughts, distractions, fears and hopes.
Help me to stop, and let you take a walk,
To slow down, and make room in my life for standing still,
So you can walk through my wondering and wandering.
‘You Lord keep in perfect peace, those whose mind is set on you.’
Isaiah 26 v 3
