He spoke of the ordinary and the everyday,
Like coins and homes and sheep that ran away.
Of bread and fish, and water and wine,
The stuff that people used all the time.
He told tales that would continue to speak,
When people lived them out the following week,
When they lost things, or built things or ate some bread,
They would recall the things he’d said,
Jesus drew on the good, bad and odd,
Every bit of life can remind us of God.
He used it all to speak of love and grace,
To remind us God is with us in every single place.
If you've appreciated this, why not...
