Humble King

He came into our lives, he appeared here with us.
Clothed in humanity, reality, courage and kindness.
He was a king, but didn’t look like one.
He helped those he met, washed their feet,
and shook the world with his compassion.
He walked the roads we must walk,
And the trek took him to a midnight court,
A savage skewing of justice,
And a cross on a grim and gruesome hill.
And because of this God raised him from the dead,
And gave him the name that is above all other names.
And when he had returned to his place in heaven,
He poured out his spirit, brimming with endless grace,
Trillions of gallons of it, free and accessible,
To those who know their need,
And bend their knee to this humble king.
