Lyrical Riffs It’s a challenge to be ourselves at times.
But the good news is that You want us to be genuine.
To be honest with ourselves and with you.
To be realistic not idealistic.
Open and sincere as we trust.
Not setting the bar so high we’ll never reach it.
Letting our walk seep into our talk.
Artificially ideal Christianity may sound impressive,
But true faith is full of humanity,
Shaped by the God who got his hands dirty,
The one who spent years quietly labouring.
The one who cares so deeply for us,
And knows that we are dusty people.
People of faith with cracks and crevices,
People that keep going though we often stumble,
People that lean on the truth and grace of the Nazareth man.
Whether we are in the gutter looking at the stars,
Or on cloud 9 at peace with our world.
Help us please Lord, to grow in True faith,
Rather than Artificially Ideal faith.
