Lyrical Riffs I’m a chocoholic… an old advert used to say,
That a Mars a day helps you… work, rest and play.
But I have another slogan, one that I made up…
It says – A Mars a day… is absolutely not enough.
You need a Kit-Kat, a Star Bar, a Snickers and Twix,
To give you the required daily chocolate fix.
On the subject of Snickers, it’s surely Marathon,
And it’s smaller than it was… but okay, I won’t go on.
Once you’ve had one Topic,
It’s very hard to stop it,
When it comes to Milk Tray,
Give me a box – and I’m away!
Munchies, Minstrels, Milky Bars, and also Divine,
Curly Wurlys, Rosies, Cadbury’s Eggs – they’re all mine.
A Chocolate Orange is not Terry’s – and it’s not Dawn’s either,
And if you’re Smartie enough – you’ll eat it before you see her.
I revel in Fredos, Bounties and Rolos,
I live on Quality Street with lots of other Heroes.
A won’t be Button-ed up about my Delight –
It’s Fry’s and it’s Turkish and I have it all night.
But Revels – they’re like playing Russian Roulette,
As Forrest said – You never know what you’re gonna get.
You might get a toffee… and chew… and chew… and chew…
To make things better you need a Yorkie or two.
I’m a chocaholic, I know that it is tragic,
Bring on the Milk Tray, the Roses, and Black Magic,
One is never enough, a whole box won’t go far,
Thank goodness for a King Size Dairy Milk bar.
Picnics, Tony’s, and Crunchies, they all fill my dreams,
Along with Lion Bars and Fry’s Chocolate Creams.
I’m the chief chocoholic, could there be a worse one?
You’d better keep your sweets concealed about your pers-on.
If you see me coming, you’d best eat it or secrete it,
Cause I’m a chocoholic, and I’m not trying to beat it.
No chocoholics anonymous for the likes of me,
I’ll just go to Tesco and fill up my trolley,
Other shops are available, of that I’m well aware,
Aldi, Lidl, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys – they’ve all got chocolate there.
I forgot to mention Twirl, Lindt, Biscoff, Caramac.
But I’ll have to finish there, cause the craving’s coming back.
