There are days when I feel like a spectator,
Life buzzing and fizzing around me,
Faces alive and chattering,
While I sit and watch it happening.
Not engaged, not part of it,
Not a player of the game.
I hope that’s OK.
I can’t always find the energy to take part,
Haven’t been sent that day’s script,
Can’t improvise my way through.
So I’ll let it happen.
And know that it is what it is,
To wrestle with it can be exhausting,
So I’ll give in and let life roll on around me,
Allow myself to be a spectator.
If you've appreciated this, why not...
