Lyrical Riffs Rapunzel has a bob cut now,
Snow White is turning grey,
Sleeping Beauty’s got insomnia,
While Uncle Scar is king today.
Dracula has filed his teeth,
Frankenstein’s in bits,
The Pea Green boat just sank,
Cinderella’s dumped her Prince.
The Chocolate Factory’s melted.
The Clangers now don’t clang,
The BFG has turned out mean,
The Magic Roundabout went bang.
Hogwarts is an office block,
Bashful is now bolshy.
The Cyclops went to Specsavers,
And Peter Pan’s an OAP.
The wardrobe door stays shut,
We just don’t have the time,
The Secret Garden’s a car park now,
Days of wonder in decline.
To wonder is to rise above
The daily grind of push and shove.
Solving problems, seeing anew,
Imagining a better view.
The Man from Galilee came by,
With tales of another kind,
To bring a brand new take on life,
An opening of heart and mind.
