An extract from the book

Two heads are better than one... may you find the wisdom and the guidance and the strength you need, from the mind of the one who walked his way to Calvary, and then on to a garden full of Resurrection, the mind of one who knows you better than you know yourself.

May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back... and though the way may be narrow and winding at times, and unlike the way that others choose, may you know that you do not walk it alone.

Life is a task that requires three hands… some lives look easier than others, but every journey has its potholes and mountains. If you are in a place of struggling today… it’s okay. It’s the nature of the way. Life ambushes us, and you are not alone.

If at first you don’t succeed… you are not strange or a failure. You are standing in a long line of human heroes. If at first you don’t feel strong, or wise, or powerful, or rich, or influential, or exalted… you are known and loved by One who invented knowing and loving.

Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness… better to offer a smile than a frown, better to encourage than put down, better to stay silent if harsh words are lurking on our lips, better to ask for help than search for blame, better to look for the good way, than give up at the crossroads.

Better out than in… when the muppet Elmo asked on social media how everyone was doing there was an outpouring of worries and grief. How much do we carry around inside, those inner burdens that no one sees. The wonderful thing about praying is that we need not be good at it, we can mumble our burdens to the Man of Sorrows who offers us hope and rest.

As one door closes… sometimes others shut too. For those facing disappointment, for those still waiting for doors to open, for those let down and pushed aside, for those forgotten and overlooked. For the doors we long to see swinging wide, for the encouragements we need. Send us grace and peace and strength today we pray.
