We believe in life… though we can sometimes look like death warmed up
We believe in truth… though we often spin those little white (?) lies
We believe in faith… though we are often full of doubt
We believe in kindness… though we can be harsh and critical
We believe in justice… even when we are unfair and selfish
We believe in generosity… though meanness can be our currency
We believe in hope, in purpose, in freedom
And though we often fail to live these out
We thank God for Jesus, who made a way through this maze
And doesn’t judge, but rescues us from our contradictions.
