Wednesday Riff: The Abandoned King

He’s dying, lost, alone, abandoned by friends and bereft of his father
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
The words come at him from the guy dying next to him
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
They touch him like a warm hand on the shoulder
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
It’s not the end, he’s a king, with a kingdom
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
Unexpected encouragement, from an unexpected source
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
And so one desperate man encourages another
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom
The Man of God, knowing what it is to be desperate, alone, lost, in despair
Remember me, when you come into your kingdom.
