She lifts her eyes, sees him smiling,
‘Is there no one left to condemn you?’
She looks around, sees the discarded rocks,
The empty footprints where the accusers have been.
She lifts her eyes, hears him speaking
‘Then I don’t condemn you either.’
In his presence the rocks have fallen,
The accusing fingers have no power.
We lift our eyes, see him smiling,
There is now no condemnation for those in Jesus.
In his presence the rocks have fallen,
The accusing fingers fail.
‘I don’t condemn you,’ he says,
Keep going, take a new step, and start again.
We lift our eyes, hear his voice,
And discover he is on our side.
