Wednesday Riff: No Separation

What will separate us from the love of Christ?
Will hardship, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Will politics, or fake news, or headlines or social media?
Popular trends, or new thinking, or developments in science or society?
Will doubt or despair or worry or stress?
Money troubles, family problems, our weaknesses and mistakes?
Strength or self-reliance, silliness or stupidity?
Insults or gossip, or the opinions of others?
Can anything come between us and the everlasting love of our heavenly Father?
The one who made everything,
The one who is slow to become angry and rich in love.
No.
Nothing can build a wall between us and God.
No place so dark that his light cannot penetrate.
No place too far that his hand cannot reach and rescue.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers,
Nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth,
Nor anything else in all creation,
Will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Romans 8 vv 35-39)
