Wednesday Riff: A God Who Understands

When we fear for the future and wonder what it holds,
When the weight of our worries brings us down,
We have a God who understands.
When we are angry once again with ourselves,
When we’re disappointed and frustrated by others,
We have a God who understands.
When we find ourselves judging and criticising,
When we feel that we’re not good enough,
We have a God who understands.
When we send up our prayers and wonder and fret,
When doubt seems a lot more present than faith,
We have a God who understands.
When we look again to that cross of death,
To its loneliness, rejection, loss and pain,
We have a God who understands.
When we read of your promise
That we are never alone,
We have a God who understands.

If you've appreciated this, why not...
