Lord, we approach with bare feet,
Vulnerable, humble, liberated.
Letting go of so much that might get in the way.
Aware of our own frailty, our humanity,
Sensing the heat of reality with each step.
We are not God and He is –
The one who calls us near.
Invites us to approach.
To listen, to grow, to change.
Beckoned by that distinct voice,
In the flames and the crackling.
So we approach with bare feet.
Daring to remove, just for a moment anyway,
The sandals of our small security. Amen.
If you've appreciated this, why not...
