Wednesday Riff: For Those

For those who find life hard,
For those who find faith hard,
Those who don’t feel strong,
Those who don’t feel powerful,
Those not sorted out,
Those for whom life is anything but tidy.
For those who feel as if they live in the dark,
Those who feel there’s little or no light at the end of the tunnel,
For those for whom the way is often unclear,
Those for whom every road is full of twists and turns,
And the path is always uneven.
For those for whom life is not straightforward.
As you keep going,
Your honest cry going up with every step,
As you place one foot in front of the other,
Grit your teeth and steel your nerves,
Those for whom life is a little easier
Send up small, heartfelt prayers,
As you share a glimpse,
Of Your long and difficult road.

‘I am worn out, O LORD; have pity on me!
Give me strength; I am completely exhausted
and my whole being is deeply troubled.
How long, O Lord, will you wait to help me?’ Psalm 6 v 2-3
