We carry them around with us,
All those extra bits and pieces
We don’t really need.
Hurts and pains,
Disappointments and embarrassments,
Misunderstandings and falling outs.
Need a baggage handler,
Someone qualified,
Someone who can take the load,
Lift it from us,
And revive us with another way.
It’s too tiring
Carrying this lot around,
Need to dump it somewhere,
In the shade of a hill
And three crosses.
