Wednesday Riff: A Great Light

Those of us who walk in darkness

Have seen a light,

A great and fragile light,

A light that first brought light to the world.

A light offered to all who limp,

Blunder, sprint or stroll,

A light to guide us, to change us,

To help and strengthen us,

And warm our hearts.

A light unafraid of any darkness,

Never intimidated, never cowed,

Never holding back,

A light for the world,

For the universe,

For each single heart.

A dawn offered afresh to us each morning,

And never leaves us, never abandons us.

Those walking in darkness

Have seen a great light,

And nothing can extinguish it.
