Everlasting father,
Prince of peace.

The pulse of life, our true north,
The ground of our being,
Source of hope and direction,
Humility, pride, strength and service,

One in whom we can ground ourselves,
Centre our being, the voice of calm.
As the world’s waves crash in around us,
As the gales of news batter us once more.

A good, good parent,
Understanding, present, listening,
Wise and untroubled by peer pressure,
Always having the time and patience and love.
