Then Jesus shouted, “Lazarus, come out!” And Lazarus came out, bound in graveclothes, his face wrapped in a headcloth. Jesus told them, “Unwrap him and let him go!” John 11 v 43-44

Lord, as you brought release to Lazarus

with the unwrapping of his bandages,

please unwrap the bandages that hold us,

the wrappings that impede us

and cause us to stumble and trip,

those things that keep us from moving into life.

Lord release us from those bandages

of fear and doubt and the past and

those things which are unknown to us,

yet known to you.

Those things that seem like overpowering burdens

And debilitating traps to us Lord.

Release those bandages from us

And release us from those bandages please.

Call us out from the grip of emptiness

and set us on a fresh course to freedom Lord.

May the truth of who you are

affect the truth of who we are please.

Set us free from these bandages we pray.
