A fun retelling of Daniel’s lion adventure.
Roar roar roar!
The lion said,
As he prepared to put ketchup
On Daniel’s head.
Roar roar roar!
The lion cried,
‘I wonder if my tummy’s big enough
To fit Daniel inside.’
Roar roar roar!
You could hear the lion talk,
As he got out his napkin
And his knife and fork.
Roar roar roar!
Munch munch munch!
He was ready for Daniel
And chips for lunch.
Roar roar – ulp!
The lion got a shock,
As an angel said,
‘You’d better stop!’
‘No, no, no,’
The angel said,
‘No putting ketchup
On Daniel’s head.’
‘God has sent me
To say to you –
You’ll have to find
Something else to chew.’
‘That’s not fair.’
You could hear the lion mutter.
‘I want Daniel
With some bread and butter.’
But the angel grabbed
The lion’s jaws,
And clipped and filed his
Dangerous claws.
The lion moaned,
‘Mumble mumble mumble!’
As his empty tummy went
Grumble grumble grumble!
‘No good complaining,’
The angel said.
‘Daniel is a good man
He’ll soon be safe in bed.’
And sure enough,
As time passed by,
The lion was still hungry
And Daniel waved bye bye!
