Heal our hearts, please, we pray,
After all that life has thrown at us.
The harmful graffiti scribbled on our being,
The despair daubed across our minds,
The clutter weighing us down,
The burdens of pain we carry.
The disappointment and frustrations,
The shattered hopes,
The missed opportunities,
The stolen dreams.
Heal our hearts, please, we pray,
And heal the hearts of others,
Those we know, those we don’t,
Those we love, those we fear.
All of us,
All of us for whom that divine heart,
Was broken, shattered, ripped,
Daubed with every shard of despair,
Every line of graffiti,
Every shade of darkness.
Heal our hearts, please, we pray.
