Monday Rewrite In an age when everyone was pressured into towing the line and believing what they were told, they refused to conform. They would not bow to the gods of success and power and self-interest. When standing for something unique and counter-cultural was ill-advised, they refused to submit to modern trends and the whims of the age. They had their eyes on another prize, another country, another reality. They seemed to be a small and insignificant group, overwhelmed by the culture around them. There was no way they would survive against those odd. And yet… 2000 years later, still under pressure in so many places, they survive and thrive and continue to shed light and hope and care.
