Wednesday Riff: Striped

Our lives are striped with complexities,
Leisure and labour,
Laughter and frustration,
Kindness and callousness.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
Light and darkness,
Bright and shade,
Hope and sadness.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
Faith and doubt,
Worry and trust,
Questions and suggestions.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
Helping and hindering,
Appreciating and scorning,
Putting down and lifting up.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
Light shining in the darkness,
Bright moments dappling the shade,
Hope lifting its head within the sadness.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
Ordinary miracles and regular mistakes,
The days ambushing and affirming us,
Us wrestling with God, God wrestling with us.
Our lives are striped with complexities,
And You care and understand.
