I could face this year alone,
Could clench my fists and every other bit,
I could harness my ideas, many but limited,
And try and find my way through the potholes and debris.
But there is a figure standing near,
One with greater understanding and foresight,
One who knows me and the roads better than I do.
And his hand is open towards me, towards you,
Let us take it.
Inspired by ‘The Gate of the Year’ by Minnie Louise Haskins
And I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year:
“Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown”.
And he replied:
“Go out into the darkness and put your hand into the Hand of God.
That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way”.
So I went forth, and finding the Hand of God, trod gladly into the night.
If you've appreciated this, why not...
