Breath

The ancient craftsmen of old
Made images from wood and stone,
And breathed on them to bring life,
To make them images of their gods.
You took dust and crafted people,
Carefully and lovingly,
And then breathed on them,
On us – your image, given life by you.
No need for stone or wooden envoys
for we are the image of the Living God.
Flawed and fractured, but still a living sign of
The maker of heaven and earth.
And Jesus, after pushing a hole between
Now and eternity,
Met his friends so that he might once more
Breathe on them,
Reminding them that we are
The image of God on this earth.
Here to care and shine the Light
Of the World towards each other.
John 20 v 22 & Genesis 2 v 7
